Wattamolla Falls - What a great time

Activity type: Beach Chills
Distance: 2 minutes walk from car park
Difficulty: Easy as!
Fun Levels: Awesome!

Wattamolla Falls is one of the best locations that Sydney's Royal National Park can offer. The name Wattamolla means "place near running water in" local aborigine dialect. This picturesque waterfall sits towards the back of a protected lagoon. A sand bar separates Wottamolla lagoon from the Tasman Sea.

Wattamolla Falls

This beautiful spot has something for everyone, the brave big wave ocean swimmers and those who love a calm relaxing float. If you want a relaxing swim you can float in the lagoon where the water is calm and fresh. If you are after a bit more action, go for a swim in Wattamolla Beach where the waves come in hard.

Providential Point

If you would like to make a day of this spot, go for a walk and take in some of the most expansive views of the Tasman from Providential Point. The crashing waves hit the cliff below as you look up and down the NSW coast line.

Rock Jump
The most notable part of this amazing little nook of Sydney is the daredevil cliff jump. It must be noted that this activity is deemed illegal. However, many who visit Wattamolla falls jump from the top of the falls into the lagoon below. This is a thrilling jump which may take the whole day to work up to. If you choose to do this it is illegal and you may face ramifications.
If this is not your style, why not visit the look out at the top and imagine what it may have been like if you'd taken the plunge.

Peace and fun adventuring!
