Restaurant Review: Soul Burger
Hey fam! I figured I should start off my restaurant reviews on a positive note, so today I'm gonna review one of my favourite places to eat in Sydney. I've eaten here on dates, for birthday dinners, and just when I want to go and eat some vegan junk food. The place I'm talking about is Soul Burger, in Paramatta.
I usually go to Soul Burger with a friend, and every time we go through the exact same process.
The one issue I have with Soul Burger is that the food can be a bit messy. If you get the Soul B fries, which are covered in sauce, your hands are gonna end up covered in sauce too. And if you get the Pulled Pork burger, which is really made out of pulled jackfruit, then pulled jackfruit is going to explode all over your plate like a savoury vegan pinata. But here's the real talk: you're gonna eat it all anyway. The food is just too good to waste.
Now you might be thinking "Hey Max, when you go out in public and make a huge mess gorging yourself on an obscene amount of junk food, don't you feel like a horrible disgusting slob?" And to that I say: Rude! But also: No! Besides having delicious food, Soul Burger has some of the best business ethics I've ever heard of. Because they're vegan, they don't support factory farming of animals, which often involves animal cruelty and is very damaging to the environment. Even better, all their packaging, serviettes, and take-out boxes are made from recycled materials. And even better than that, they really respect their workers. It's kind of an open secret that people in the food service industry are often paid below minimum wage in Sydney, but Soul Burger not only pays their workers properly, they decided to continue paying penalty rates even after they were no longer legally required. Basically supporting this business makes me feel like a superhero, which is why I was so happy to give it a glowing review.
Stuff You Should Know:
If this is what souls taste like, I see why the devil is always trying to steal them from people. FIVE OUT OF FIVE, BABY!

- Spend 10 minutes trying to decide what we want to eat because all the food is so good.
- Convince ourselves we can eat three burgers, a plate of chips and two milkshakes between the two of us.
- Realise that we ordered way too much food and we're gonna have to take half of it home to eat late.
- Eat it all on the train because it's too delicious to wait for.

Stuff You Should Know:
- If Paramatta is too much of a trek, there's Soul Burger locations in Randwick and Glebe as well.
- Prices can go from $10 to $22 for different types of burgers, and not gonna lie, the $22 one is a lot better than the $10. So my advice would be to make friends with a rich guy who'll pay for all your food, and then just go wild.
- It's legit so good.
- They have a website: Check it out here!
