Hello and Welcome!

Welcome & Introductions

Hello and welcome to our first post here on Out & About Sydney! Over the next few weeks, we will be sharing our favourite things to do and places to see around the wonderful city of Sydney. Who are we, you might ask? Well, we're just a bunch of kids from all over the lengths and breadths of Sydney studying a variety of completely different degrees at Macquarie University. What do we have in common? We all love getting out and about around Sydney. We will be posting 6 days a week (most likely Monday-Saturday, but life does get in the way sometimes!) over the next 4 weeks, inviting you to come along on 24 adventures in total. So strap yourselves in for a wild series of exciting places we like to go in our (very limited) spare time!

Meet the team!

Hi, I'm Max! I'll be blogging under the name Maxwell Seppelt. I'm 22, just finishing my Bachelor of Commerce degree. I've been living close to the Sydney CBD for my whole, life but I never really went out much until the past couple of years. Recently I've been spending more time with my vegan friends, and they've been introducing me to some of their favourite vegan restaurants in Sydney.

Hi my name is Albert, I'm 19 and this is my first year studying a Bachelor of Psychology and Criminology at Macquarie University. I'm originally from Taiwan, but came over to Sydney when I was in Year 10.  I love playing sport and my favourite is rugby. I was in the second grade rugby team in high school but I unfortunately injured my arms and can't play for 2 years. Hopefully my recovery will be quick and I'll be able to get back to playing on the field in no time. Due to my interest of photography, I'll be posting about a few wonderful places where people can shoot some interesting photos.

Hi! My name's Nicole Nathalie Tan, I'm 19 years old, from the beautiful country of Philippines! I'm a sophomore Mechatronic Engineering student at Macquarie University and this is my first term here. I've been studying Civil Engineering in the Philippines for 4 years but I chose to take the risk by moving here to Sydney, Australia and starting anew and it has been 2 months since then!
I used to do cheerleading, surfing, and taekwando during my free time. But when I started going to University, my heart and passion got diverted to being a servant-leader in my university.
Every now and then, I go travelling around the Philippines to take photos (as I am a photographer by heart). And now that I just recently moved, I've been adding collection to my profile as I travel around Sydney! And now, I'm targeting to travel the beaches and cheap stores in Sydney with you!

Hey! My name is Brendan, I'm 23 and I'm in my 4th year of a Bachelor of Environment degree at Macquarie Uni. I'm really into cycling and spending quality time with friends which takes me to some interesting spots around Sydney. I grew up and spent most of my life in the Blue Mountains giving me a strong love for nature and being amongst it. I will be posting about some of the best natural spots around Sydney to get your fix of the outdoors.

Hey, my name is Abid and I am from Bangladesh. I will explain more about me and what I will be contributing to this blog on my first post coming this Friday. Stay tuned!

And last but by no means least, I'm Patricia! I'm 19 years old and in my second year of studying a Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Education (Primary) degree at Macquarie. I've lived in the beautiful Hills District in the north-west of Sydney my whole life. Living in metro Sydney means that I've been surrounded by large shopping malls and cute cafes, which has led to a (mild) brunching obsession. Although I do love a good eggs benedict, I also love exploring the outdoors and seeing what Sydney's coastlines have to offer. Over the  next few weeks, I will be posting a combination of my favourite cafes, coastal walks and secluded beaches hiding amongst the urban jungle. I hope you're prepared for all the exciting times ahead.

So there you have it, our very first post. I hope you are as excited as we are for what this blog will unveil. Check back in tomorrow to see one of Max's favourite places in Sydney.

Until then,

Patricia
